W. Scott Loy has been creating images for over thiry-four years in the fields of Advertising, Editorial, Commercial, Architectural, and most recently, Fine Art photography.
The last nineteen years, he has resided in San Luis Obispo County content to help raise his 3 children along with his wife of 22 years, Jodi.
He attended Art Center College of Design in the early 70's majoring in Advertising photography. Upon leaving Art Center, he assisted for top named advertising photographers on both the West and East Coast shooting for such prestigious clients as Toyota, Mazda, Black Glama Mink, Broadway, May Company, etc.
In 1978, Scott was hired as the Senior Photographer for Walt Disney Imagineering, formally known as WED Enterprises. During his tenure there, he worked on the EPCOT, Tokyo Disneyland, Walt Disney World and Disneyland amusement parks. The variety of assignments had him traveling to different countries including Mexico, Italy, Philippines, Taiwan, Korea and Hong Kong.
Upon leaving Imagineering, Scott started his own commercial business. He has contracted his talents for a variety of corporate accounts such as: The Cousteau Society, Universal Tours, Cellular One, Tmrac Enterprises, TRW, JBL Scientific, John Righby Rifle, Ralph's Market, Flour Daniel GTI and David Copperfield's Company, Disappearing Inc, The Apple Farm Inn, to name a few.
In 2000, Scott purchased a Canon Digital SLR camera and since then, he has never looked back to film. With the total contrl from the image to the final printed piece, he re-discovered a love for creating fine art.
From 2004 to 2006, Scott was an instructor at the Lepp Institute of Digital Imaging in Los Osos, under the direction of world-renown nature photographer, author and Canon Rep, George Lepp.
